Lance-leaf Coreopsis shows off bright yellow flowers much of summer. It can tolerate very sunny and hot locations with poor soil. Grows to 2' tall, full sun,  medium-dry to dry soil. Dead-heading spent flowers will extend blooming. This species also is commonly called Sand Coreopsis, or Tickseed because some think the seed looks like Ticks.
